We are delighted to welcome applications for places at St. John’s. Most of our school places are taken by children who live in the local area, but we have also some children who travel in from further.
For children starting school:
We would invite parents of children born between 1st September, 2021 and 31st August, 2022 (inclusive) to apply for a school place for September 2026 via the Oxfordshire County Council website. Oxfordshire County Council have lots of helpful information on their website, including a Starting School Guide https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/schools/apply-school-place/reception-applications.
The primary school admissions process will open on 4th November, 2025 with an applications deadline of 15th January, 2024. There is a final date to confirm a change of address of 30th January, 2026. The national offer day, where all families find out which school has been offered, is 16th April,2026.
We do recommend that you fill all preferences on your application for a school place.
We will shortly be advertising dates to come and visit the school – it is important that you feel that the school “fits” your child. Please check back shortly.
For children changing schools:
If your child has already started school but you wish to move them to St. John’s, this is known as an in-year transfer. The application form for in-year transfers can be found here. This would be the case even if your child is moving schools within the summer break. It would be worthwhile to call the school office to check if there are spaces within the year group you require before you fill in the form.
The County Council’s admissions team hold a continued interest list for our school – this is like a waiting list. Please direct any queries regarding how many children are on these lists for each year group to the OCC admissions team.
