Egyptian Day!

What a day we have had today!

Year 3 and 4 spent an entire day being Ancient Egyptians, complete with exceptional costumes (and the boiling hot weather to match!). The morning consisted of a selection of activities that the children rotated around in their groups. They used papyrus paper and hieroglyphics to create their own cartouche; used Lego, sugar cubes and polydron to create pyramids; collaged a section of the River Nile; made edible mummies from pastry and sausages (with help from Cleopatra herself!) and even learnt to Walk Like An Egyptian… We managed to recover from our busy morning whilst watching The Prince of Egypt on DVD and then we bravely sampled a selection of Egyptian delicacies.
