In Year 3 we have put to the test our expert understanding of the mummification process in two rather more artistic ways. First we had a very insightful visit from Wallingford School Art Department – huge thanks to Mr Bowen and team! – they taught us how to mummify parts of our own body (using clingfilm and tape) to create ‘life size’ models. When dotting the finished pieces of art around our classroom, they generate a fair amount of interest and intrigue! Next we used dolls and mod-rock to mimic wrapping linen around the body. Fortunately, there were no organs to be extract, yet we still ended up with our fair share of mess!
