World Book Day

For World Book Day yesterday, all of the children have been given a special World Book Day book token.  These can be taken to any bookshop – we recommend Wallingford Bookshop run by the wonderful Ali, who visited school for our We Love Books Day last term.  The tokens can be swapped for any of the 12 new Book Day books, written by brilliant authors such as Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Lauren Child, Abi Elphinstone and Malorie Blackman.  The books available include a Lego book, and books from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Claude and Percy Jackson series.  For a complete list of the books, see this link:
Alternatively, the Book Day tokens can be used for £1 off the cost of any full-priced book or audio book. The book tokens can be used up until 31st March 2019.
As you know, we are really developing children’s Reading for Pleasure this year, particularly with our extension of the school day for daily storytime from 3:00pm to 3:15pm.  Please support this by helping your child to use their Book Token and choose one of the lovely free books, or a £1 discount for any other book.  Thank you very much.
